How to Use This Media Planning Tool
Filters
You can segment your Media Planning parameters by using any combination of these filters:
- State:
Choose a US State to localize your search (excludes Alaska and Puerto Rico). - DMA:
Select a Designated Market Area (where data is available). - County / Zip Code:
Drill down further into sub-regions for precise targeting. - Age Group:
Define your audience’s age range. - Gender:
Filter results by male, female, or all.
Inputs
- Reach (%):
The percentage of the selected target population you aim to reach. - Frequency (#):
How many times your ad is expected to be seen by the same individual. - CPM ($):
Your estimated Cost-per-Thousand Impressions.

Outputs
- Population Size:
Total people in the selected geography. - Target Population:
Adjusted for your demographic filters. - Target Impressions:
Total impressions based on reach and frequency. - Estimated Budget:
The projected spend based on your CPM input.
Data Source
- We use the American Community Survey (ACS) 2023: 5-Year Estimates Subject Tables.
- The table utilized is S0101 | Age and Sex, which provides detailed breakdowns by geography, age group, and gender.
- DMA-level data is not available for the following U.S. Territories and states.
- Alaska
- Puerto Rico
- All demographic and population estimates are derived from the U.S. Census Bureau.
