How long have you worked at New Path?
Since May 2022!
Where is your hometown?
Depends on how you define hometown. Where I was born and spent most of my childhood is Eielson, Alaska. I always think of that as where I’m from. But I live in Burlington, NC.
What was your dream job as a kid?
I don’t think I ever settled on just one. I wanted to do everything when I grew up.
What was your first job ever?
My first professional job was as a clerk/typist working for Lockheed Aircraft Service in California. I can type 112 words per minute. 😉
Mountains or Beach?
Mountains
What’s a show you are currently binging?
Stranger Things
What’s your favorite motto or personal mantra?
Hope for the best. Plan for the worst.
What’s your favorite ad campaign?
This is a hard one because there are SOOOOOOO many excellent campaigns out there. For an oldie, the Alka-Seltzer Newlywed ads from the 60s and 70s are an absolute hoot. For something more recent, the Organic Balance Real Morning Report hit the nail on the head for women — at least from my perspective. And for an overall campaign approach – GEICO. They cut through the noise and get attention, address a challenge with GEICO/GECKO pronunciation, speak to product and service, and are incredibly consistent.
If you could be guaranteed one thing in life (besides money), what would it be?
For my husband and I to be able to travel anywhere we want at any time. We love exploring new — and old — places. To be able to easily travel and have the time and resources to do it would be amazing.
Two truths and a lie, Go!
I have an irrational fear of bears.
I learned to program computers on a TRS-80.
I finished my bachelor’s degree in 2 years.
What are three words to describe working at New Path?
Collaborative. Engaging. Growth-minded.
Early bird or night owl?
Early bird
How do you define success?
To me, it’s all about learning and growing.
What’s something not a lot of people know about you?
There are many things people don’t know about me, and I like that. 😉
Great Scott! Doc Brown gives you the DeLorean for one joy ride, what time period are you headed to?
I want to go back to the year I was 8 years old. That was a great year. Not because of things happening in the world, but where I was in life. I had a safe and loving home, and I was old enough to pick out my own clothes, to go outside and play without adult supervision, yet I had no great responsibilities (beyond a few chores). No one, as far as I knew, relied on me for anything. That was a great year. 🙂
Another spotlight in the books, who are we going to feature next time? Stay tuned to find!
